50th ANNIVERSARY HISTORIC "MARCH ON WASHINGTON!"
On August 28, 2013 citizens from
across this country will converge upon our nation’s capital to commemorate and
celebrate the 50th anniversary of the historic March On Washington.
This transcendent moment when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have
a Dream” speech challenged us all to dream a bigger dream for our nation and
our lives. As we approach this day, at the Cincinnati Human Relations
Commission we still marvel at all of the profound changes that the civil rights
movement helped bring to our nation & we honor the memory of those of every
race, ethnicity, gender and religion who fought for civil rights. We also renew
our commitment to live up to the dream that Dr. King articulated that day and
remain steadfast in our efforts to help our community to overcome prejudice and
discrimination; and build mutual respect and understanding. During the most
critical of times, CHRC has always been there turning the community’s needs
into action and connecting cultures and communities & our work continues to
address modern day human and civil rights.

Together, they have completed over 3,000 hours of community service. Their parents, Harold and Dancy D'Souza, stay in frequent communication with Jaime Bryant, Youth Services Coordinator, so they can be made aware of CHRC's youth opportunities.
