The Cincinnati Human Relations Commission is Sponsoring “Understanding the Connection Between Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Violence”


Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Human Relations Commission (CHRC) is hosting a free workshop for Minority Health Month at the Carl Linder YMCA on April 25 and 26. The theme for these events is “Understanding the Connection Between Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Violence.

Thursday April 25 the workshop will take place from 5:30 - 8:00 pm at the YMCA (1425 Linn St.). This workshop will include how attendees can increase their knowledge about the connection between mental health and substance abuse and how these disorders impact violence in the community.

Friday April 26 the workshop will take place from 5:30 am - 8:00 pm also at the YMCA (1425 Linn St.). This workshop will include the risk factors that contribute to the increase in violent behaviors when mental health disorders exist. A panel discussion will be presented that will include personal experiences.
