COAs participated in Cincinnati Stand Down event

CHRC Community Outreach Advocates (COAs) Valarie Dowell and Steven Sherman along with Judge Melissa Powers, Hamilton County Office of Reentry and Hamilton County Expungement Clinic participated in this year’s event held on Friday, June 10th in Washington Park.

Cincinnati Stand Down provides supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings and VA Social Security benefits counseling. Veterans can also receive referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling. This event was coordinated between local VA Medical Center, other government agencies and community-based homeless service providers.
